Lochinvar is a township with significant heritage value and is surrounded by pasture and farmlands with charming rural views.
Ballimore Estate was developed in 2003 on prime rural land on Luskintyre Road, close to the iconic Luskintyre Bridge which is one of the first road bridges of its class built in NSW, dating back to 1902.
The property was previously used for horse breeding and agistment for a few years and prior to that, as a commercial fruit growing area for most of the 20th century.
Ballimore Estate has just 5 acres under vine which enhances the boutique quality of the product. The ‘terroir’ is thick, black loamy clay with excellent water drainage. The trellising is based on the two wired vertical system to maximise canopy management and exposure to the sun. Careful attention is given to all viticultural aspects of the annual harvest, in order to enhance the quality of each season’s fruit.
Ballimore Estate harvests just one grape – Merlot.
