The Winemaking

Both of the Ballimore wines are truly local Hunter produce. Grown and

hand-harvested at
Ballimore Estate, the fruit is sent direct to our winemaker, Scott Stephens – a well know identity of the Hunter’s winemaking fraternity.
Stephens has previously been chief winemaker at some of the Hunter’s premium wineries, such as McWilliams Mt Pleasant, De Bortoli, Tower Estate and currently at Capercaillie Wines. In recent years, he has established his own winemaking business in the Hunter, where he develops his craft with quality and distinction.
Stephens has over 20 years experience in the Hunter Valley and has completed vintages in France, California and Coonawarra.
